General questions
Who are Top Team Rubbish Machine?
Top Team Rubbish Machine is a Sydney rubbish removal, strip-out and demolition crew based in Dee Why on the Northern Beaches. Australian owned and owner-operated since 2019, we clear rubbish, strip out offices, bathrooms, kitchens and shops, handle light demolition, pressure cleaning, moving and deliveries, and leave every site clean.
What can you take away?
Almost anything: furniture, mattresses, whitegoods, e-waste, green waste, building rubble, timber, tiles, scrap metal, office furniture and files, and general household junk. If the council clean-up won't take it, Top Team Rubbish Machine probably will. The one thing we don't remove is asbestos, which needs a licensed asbestos removalist.
How is the price worked out?
Top Team Rubbish Machine prices each job on the type of rubbish, its volume and weight, and how easy it is to access (stairs, lifts, distance to the truck). For strip-outs and demolition it's the size of the space and what's being removed. Every quote is free and obligation-free.
How do I get a quote?
Call or text William on 0429 624 629, or fill in the quote form on the Top Team Rubbish Machine website with a few photos and your suburb. Photos are the fastest way to an accurate price, and for bigger strip-outs or demolition we can come and take a look.
What areas do you cover?
Top Team Rubbish Machine works right across Sydney's Northern Beaches, including Manly, Queenscliff, Balgowlah, Dee Why, Collaroy Plateau, Narrabeen, Forestville, Newport and Avalon, plus North Shore suburbs such as Castlecrag and Mosman. We also take on strip-outs, demolition and larger jobs across Greater Sydney.
Why not just dump it?
Illegal dumping is an offence in NSW, with on-the-spot fines for individuals and much larger penalties for serious offences. Whitegoods and furniture are among the most commonly dumped items. A rubbish removal service like Top Team Rubbish Machine takes waste to licensed facilities and recycles what can be recycled.
Do you do residential and commercial jobs?
Yes. Top Team Rubbish Machine works for homeowners, renovators, landlords and tenants, and for businesses: offices, shops, studios and warehouses, plus builders and trades who need a site cleared. Jobs range from a single fridge to a full office strip-out.
Do you do demolition as well as rubbish removal?
Yes. Top Team Rubbish Machine does light and selective demolition: walls (single brick, double brick and decorative), roofs, concrete and slabs, sheds, granny flats, fireplaces, staircases, patios and retaining walls, and we remove all the waste in the same job.
What happens to the waste you collect?
Top Team Rubbish Machine disposes of waste properly at licensed facilities. Where we can, we separate materials such as scrap metal, green waste, e-waste and clean concrete or brick so they can be recycled instead of going to landfill.
Do I need to be home when you come?
Not always. If the rubbish is accessible (in a driveway, carport or unlocked garage, for example) and we've agreed exactly what's going, Top Team Rubbish Machine can collect it while you're out. For strip-outs and demolition we'll arrange access with you or your builder.
Are you a franchise?
No. Top Team Rubbish Machine is a local, 100% Australian owned and operated business, not a franchise. You deal directly with the people doing the work, and there's no franchise fee built into your price.
Rubbish Removal
Do I need to bring the rubbish out to the kerb?
No. Top Team Rubbish Machine does all the loading. We collect rubbish from wherever it is: the garage, the backyard, under the house or up the stairs in a unit block, then sweep up before we leave.
Can you remove a single item, like a fridge or a mattress?
Yes. Single items such as fridges, washing machines, mattresses and couches are fine. Send a photo with your suburb and we'll give you a free quote. It's often worth adding anything else you've been meaning to get rid of to the same trip.
Is a skip bin cheaper than a rubbish removal crew?
Not always. A skip bin is priced on the bin size and hire period, needs space on your property or a council permit on the street, and you still do all the loading. With Top Team Rubbish Machine you pay for the load and the labour, and the job is usually done in a few hours.
Do you take green waste and garden clearances?
Yes. We remove branches, prunings, old garden beds, turf, soil and garden clearances on the Northern Beaches and across Sydney, including old timber sleeper retaining walls and edging when a garden is being redone.
Strip-Outs
What is a strip-out?
A strip-out (sometimes called soft demolition) removes the internal fit-out of a space, such as cabinetry, partitions, fixtures, floor coverings, ceilings and linings, without touching the building's structure. Top Team Rubbish Machine strips the space and removes all the waste in the same job.
Do you do end-of-lease make-good strip-outs?
Yes. We strip out shops, offices and commercial tenancies at the end of a lease so the space can be handed back. Let us know your handover date and any building rules and we'll schedule the work around them.
Can you work after hours?
For commercial strip-outs we can often work around trading hours and building access windows. Tell us what the building management allows when you ask for a quote.
Office Strip-Outs
How long does an office strip-out take?
It depends on the floor area and how much fit-out is coming out. A small office can often be stripped and cleared in a day, while larger floors take longer. Top Team Rubbish Machine gives you a timeframe with the free quote so you can plan the handover.
Do you remove ceiling tiles and carpet in an office strip-out?
Yes. We remove suspended ceiling tiles and grid, carpet and carpet tiles, partitions and joinery, along with all furniture and equipment, and clear it all from the building in the same job.
Can you book the loading dock and goods lift?
We'll work with your building manager's booking process. Let us know the building rules when you request a quote and we'll plan the strip-out around the dock and lift times.
Bathroom Strip-Outs
How long does a bathroom strip-out take?
Most standard bathroom strip-outs by Top Team Rubbish Machine are done in a day, including removing all the rubble. Larger bathrooms, tile beds over masonry or difficult access can take a little longer, and we'll tell you upfront.
Do I need a plumber before a bathroom strip-out?
Water and any services to fixtures being removed need to be isolated and capped. Many people have their plumber do this on the morning of the strip-out. We'll coordinate with your plumber or builder so the room is left ready for them.
Can you strip out a bathroom in an apartment?
Yes. We regularly carry bathroom rubble down stairs and through unit blocks. We protect common areas and follow the building's strata rules on working hours and lift use.
Kitchen Strip-Outs
Can you remove a stone benchtop?
Yes. Top Team Rubbish Machine removes stone, laminate and timber benchtops as part of a kitchen strip-out. Stone tops are heavy, so we bring enough crew to lift and carry them out safely.
Do I need to disconnect the appliances first?
Gas, water and hardwired electrical appliances must be disconnected by a licensed plumber, gasfitter or electrician before we remove them. Plug-in appliances we can simply unplug and take.
Will you take the old kitchen away the same day?
Yes. Everything we strip out is loaded onto our truck and removed in the same visit, so you're not left with a pile of old cabinets in the driveway.
Demolition
Can you remove a load-bearing wall?
A load-bearing wall must be assessed by a structural engineer and propped or replaced with a beam as part of the design, and may need council approval. Top Team Rubbish Machine can carry out the demolition and removal once that is in place. Non-load-bearing walls can usually come out straight away.
Do you demolish concrete slabs and driveways?
Yes. We break up and remove concrete paths, patios, driveways and slabs on the Northern Beaches and across Sydney, and take the concrete away for recycling where possible.
Do you remove asbestos?
No. Asbestos must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist. If your building might contain asbestos, have it checked before demolition starts. Once it has been cleared, Top Team Rubbish Machine can carry out the rest of the demolition and removal.
Can you demolish a shed or granny flat?
Yes. We demolish and remove sheds, metal sheds, granny flats and other backyard outbuildings, including the floor or slab if you need it gone, and leave the area clear.
Pressure Cleaning
What surfaces can be pressure cleaned?
Concrete driveways and paths, pavers, patios, pool surrounds and most hard outdoor surfaces can be pressure cleaned. Top Team Rubbish Machine will check the surface when quoting, as softer or damaged surfaces need a gentler approach.
Can you combine pressure cleaning with a rubbish removal?
Yes. Many Northern Beaches customers book a backyard clear-out or end-of-lease rubbish removal and have the paths, patio or driveway pressure cleaned in the same visit, so the property is finished in one go.
Do you need water on site for pressure cleaning?
Yes. Pressure cleaning needs access to a working outdoor tap at the property. Let us know if water access may be an issue when you ask for a quote.
Moving & Deliveries
Do you do small moves and single items?
Yes. Top Team Rubbish Machine moves single items and small loads, such as a couch, a fridge, some office equipment or a few rooms of furniture, around the Northern Beaches and Sydney, without the minimum booking of a big removalist.
Can you move my new appliance in and take the old one away?
Yes. We can deliver and install household appliances and take the old one away in the same visit. Appliances that need gas, water or hardwired power connected must be connected by a licensed trade.
Do you deliver building materials?
Yes. We deliver building materials to homes and job sites across the Northern Beaches and Sydney, including sites with difficult access where we carry materials to where they're needed.
