Demolition

Demolition on the Northern Beaches, from one wall to the whole lot

Knocking out a wall to open up the living room? Old shed, granny flat or concrete slab in the way? We demolish it and clear it in one job, and leave the site ready for whatever comes next.

What we demolish

Our crew handles light and selective demolition for homes, renovators, builders and commercial sites, with hands-on work where machines can't reach.

  • Wall removal: single brick, double brick and decorative walls
  • Roof demolition, including tiles and roof frames
  • Concrete and slab demolition: paths, patios, driveways and slabs
  • Granny flats, sheds and outbuildings
  • Fireplaces, including sandstone fireplaces
  • Staircases, patios and decks
  • Retaining walls and garden structures

Demolition and removal in one

Plenty of demolition crews leave you with a mountain of rubble. We don't. Everything we knock down is loaded and taken away as we go: bricks, concrete, tiles, timber, metal roofing and the dust. You get a clear site, not a second job.

Rubble is sorted where we can, so clean brick, concrete and metal can go to recycling rather than landfill, and the rest goes to licensed facilities.

Before we start

Some demolition work needs approval from your council or a structural engineer's sign-off, particularly load-bearing walls. Services in the way (power, gas, water) must be disconnected by licensed trades. We'll talk you through what applies to your job at the quote, so there are no surprises.

We don't remove asbestos. If an older building may contain asbestos, it needs to be checked and handled by a licensed asbestos removalist before we start.

FAQ

Demolition questions

Can you remove a load-bearing wall?

A load-bearing wall must be assessed by a structural engineer and propped or replaced with a beam as part of the design, and may need council approval. Top Team Rubbish Machine can carry out the demolition and removal once that is in place. Non-load-bearing walls can usually come out straight away.

Do you demolish concrete slabs and driveways?

Yes. We break up and remove concrete paths, patios, driveways and slabs on the Northern Beaches and across Sydney, and take the concrete away for recycling where possible.

Do you remove asbestos?

No. Asbestos must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist. If your building might contain asbestos, have it checked before demolition starts. Once it has been cleared, Top Team Rubbish Machine can carry out the rest of the demolition and removal.

Can you demolish a shed or granny flat?

Yes. We demolish and remove sheds, metal sheds, granny flats and other backyard outbuildings, including the floor or slab if you need it gone, and leave the area clear.
